The Triple Door Presents
A Celebration of Jobim’s Birthday
Brazilian Nights NW and the Triple Door present a very special evening of music by one of the greatest composers of the 20th century, Antonio Carlos Jobim. We are celebrating what would have been his 87th birthday with a fantastic concert, led by 3-time Latin Grammy nominee Brazilian pianist and composer Jovino Santos Neto and his Quinteto (Ben Thomas on vibraphone and bandoneon, Chuck Deardorf on bass, Mark Ivester on drums and Jeff Busch on percussion). We are super excited to have two very special guest performers:
Brazilian vocalist Maucha Adnet, who sang in Jobim’s Banda Nova for 10 years. She has performed with Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Caetano Veloso, Duduka da Fonseca, Slide Hampton and many others. For more information, please visit http://www.quizamba.com/madnet.html
Brazilian guitarist Romero Lubambo, a founding member of the award-wining Trio da Paz, and who has been touring the world with Dianne Reeves, in addition to performing with Yo-Yo Ma, Michael Brecker, Diana Krall, Kenny Barron and many more. For more information, please visit http://www.romerolubambo.com
This will be a concert to celebrate the tunes that Jobim has been made famous for, and also his beautiful compositions that rarely are performed in this country.
