#NerdNightOut is a variety show for the bespectacled set co-hosted by musical duo The Doubleclicks and comedian Joseph Scrimshaw, brought to Seattle for the first time at the Triple Door this April! Expect songs about Dungeons and Dragons and love, jokes about Star Wars and social justice, as well as games and special guests!
The Doubleclicks (http://thedoubleclicks.com/) are two sisters who sing sincerely about the things geeks love: dinosaurs, super-villains, Dungeons & Dragons, and more. The duo has gained renown for their youtube videos including the geek girl song “Nothing to Prove,” for appearing on Wil Wheaton’s web show Tabletop, and for writing the theme song for Cards Against Humanity. The Doubleclicks have toured conventions, bars and clubs across the US and Canada including at w00tstock, Comicon and JoCoCruiseCrazy. Their 2013 album “Lasers and Feelings” hit the top 10 on Billboard’s comedy charts. Their 2014 album “Dimetrodon” was funded by an $80,000 Kickstarter project. Doubleclicks concerts are perfect for software engineers or fans of the 1995 BBC Pride and Prejudice mini-series.
Joseph Scrimshaw (http://josephscrimshaw.com) is a comedian and writer based in Los Angeles. He’s appeared at the San Francisco SketchFest, Chicago Improv Festival, Wil Wheaton and Adam Savage’s w00tstock, headlined the Jonathan Coulton Cruise, appeared on Geek & Sundry’s TableTop, and been a guest performer at multiple conventions, festivals, and bars across the country.
His writing credits include the movie riffing site RiffTrax, the radio show Wits, the nationally televised sketch comedy show M@DAbout, the web series WTFark, and multiple episodes of the podcast Getting On With James Urbaniak. His latest comedy album Flaw Fest was released in 2013. John Hodgman said, “I am glad Joseph Srimshaw has the power of thought and audible speech, or else this very funny album would not exist.”
