Giordano Productions presents a Flamenco Jazz experience to remember!

Latin Grammy award winner and internationally renowned pianist and composer Chano Domínguez brings his signature flamenco jazz to the Triple Door for one night only. From his roots in Andalucia, Chano serves up fresh compositions and re-imagines standards from Miles Davis to Manuel de Falla, all filtered through the lens of traditional flamenco forms: the soulful tangos, the exuberant bulerías and seguidillas, and the bluesy soleá. He will be joined by bassist Jeff Johnson and drummer John Bishop.

Growing up playing guitar in a family of traditional musicians in Cadiz, Chano switched to the piano when he heard the music of Thelonius Monk and Bill Evans. Since then, he has collaborated with top artists in both jazz and flamenco: Wynton Marsalis, Paquito D'Rivera, Herbie Hancock, Paco de Lucia, Tomatito, and many others. Today, he tours internationally and has recorded numerous albums including "Flamenco Sketches" which gave a Spanish flavor to Miles Davis' classic album "Kind of Blue." His compositions have been played by WDR Big Band, Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Latvia Symphonic Orchestra, and Ballet Nacional de Espana. Domínguez won a Latin Grammy for the soundtrack of the movie Calle 54 (2001), directed by Fernando Trueba, as well as a Grammy nomination for best Latin Jazz Album category with “Flamenco Sketches” (2012) and “Bendito” (2016). Seattle audiences got their first taste of Chano’s last October, when he performed at Teatro Zinzanni as part of the 2015 Earshot Festival.
